Dog walking bag and harness: what to check before you buy

Black PupClub Couture crossbody dog walking bag

A useful walking setup starts with what you carry and how your dog’s harness fits. Before choosing a colour or adding accessories to your basket, spend a few minutes checking dimensions, adjustment ranges and the details of delivery. This guide explains how to compare two products from our own Paw and Pause range, without buying more than you need.

Start with your everyday walk

Lay out the things you normally take: your phone, keys, poo bags and any small essentials. Decide which need their own pocket and which you want to reach quickly. A bag that looks roomy in a photograph may not suit a large phone case or bulky water bottle. Compare actual measurements rather than relying on a styled image.

If your current bag already works, you may only need to organise it differently. If you regularly search through pockets or carry loose items, a dedicated walking bag is worth comparing. For longer outings, check capacity carefully; a compact crossbody bag is not a substitute for a larger day bag.

Walking bag: check size, access and cleaning

Our Crossbody Dog Walking Bag in black vegan leather measures 24 × 18 × 8 cm and has an adjustable 76–137 cm strap. Its zipped compartments, internal pouch, wipeable lining and side poo-bag dispenser provide separate places for small essentials.

  • Size: compare the stated dimensions with what you carry. External dimensions do not guarantee that every item will fit inside.
  • Strap: compare its adjustment range with your preferred carrying position, including over your usual coat.
  • Access: decide whether zipped storage and a side dispenser address the things you find awkward on walks.
  • Care: the product instructions specify hand washing in cool water and laying flat to dry. Vegan leather and a wipeable lining do not mean the bag is waterproof.

The bag is £29.99 at the time of writing. It is sold on its own; accessories used to style the supplier photographs are not included.

Harness: choose measurements before size names

The Rugged Rover Harness in Berry Red is available in Extra Small, Small, Medium and Large. These names are not interchangeable with sizes from another brand. Measure your dog’s neck and chest following the supplier’s chart on the product page, then compare both measurements with the ranges shown.

If a measurement falls near a boundary, or the neck and chest point to different sizes, ask us before ordering rather than guessing from breed or weight. A photograph of another dog wearing the harness cannot establish the right fit for yours.

This model has adjustable neck and chest straps, a lockable neck buckle, front and back D-rings, air-mesh lining, reflective strips and a handle. The neck buckle allows fitting without slipping the harness over your dog’s head. Choose features that suit your routine, and check the fit and the condition of the straps and fastenings before each walk. Reflective details do not guarantee visibility, and a harness does not replace loose-lead training.

The harness is £35.99 at the time of writing and is sold separately from the bag. Check the selected size’s current availability on the product page.

Before you checkout

Both products are supplied directly by our UK supplier. Delivery charges and available services are shown at checkout, so compare the delivered total with your budget. We do not hold these products for local collection. Prices and availability can change; the product page and checkout show the current offer.

Review our returns and refunds policy before ordering. For help with a measurement, product detail or order, contact Paw and Pause. We can help you check the information without promising a fit from a breed name alone.
